GlobalPro Texas: The First Two Years.

A letter from Rob Bowlby, President of GlobalPro Texas

Twelve years ago, I was launching a regional bank in Miami, when a mutual friend introduced me to Dan Odess, GlobalPro Holdings CEO. We hit it off from the start and began a friendship that lasted, even as I moved to Dallas with the bank in 2016. Fast forward to 2021. Winter Storm Uri hits Texas hard causing catastrophic blackouts and damage spanning most of the state. Thankfully my family was unharmed, but our home had significant water damage. And our insurance company, a boutique firm who was supposed to be one of the best, did not handle it well. So I reached out to Dan who flew to Dallas to represent us on our claim.

As I watched the recovery process unfold, I realized the service GlobalPro provides is one of the most important a homeowner could ever have. So later that year, I said goodbye to a 30 year banking career and joined the GlobalPro family, spearheading the newest office in their expanding footprint. We settled our first claim just 90 days after launching the company. It was a hail claim that the carrier had completely denied, and from there we were off and running. Now two years in, GlobalPro Texas boasts a solid commercial and residential client base, excellent representation, and a growing team, and we look forward to further expansion into the great state of Texas.

The work we do at GlobalPro is incredibly fulfilling because we protect our clients’ largest investments. For commercial real estate owners, these are multimillion dollar properties with tenants who depend on them. For business owners, their properties are typically their largest asset with both employees and families counting on a smooth operation. And for homeowners of course, their houses are both an investment and the place where they are emotionally tied. We know that property damage is extremely stressful and insurance companies make it difficult to resolve claims. We want people to understand the value of GlobalPro representation before disaster strikes, so when they need us we are there to handle the process from start to finish. When I look back at the clients we have represented and see the size of the final recovery compared to where they started, I am extremely proud of the work we have done.

I’m also grateful for the many organizations that have partnered with GlobalPro in Texas. The Real Estate Council (TREC) has been a great connection to the North Texas real estate community. Since our launch in 2021, we have sponsored the TREC speaker series with presenters such as Troy Aikman and Tom Gaglardi. Our partnership with the Texas Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (TAPIA) has been a tremendous resource for learning from other policyholder advocates and construction experts. I travelled to Austin with TAPIA last year to lobby for consumer protection legislation against insurance companies who wanted to prevent advocates such as GlobalPro from representing policyholders during claims. GlobalPro is also a member of the Dallas Builders Association (DBA) where we support the education series for the Multifamily Builders Council. DBA has done an excellent job of educating members on changing code and permitting requirements. They also introduced us to Collin College where we have begun recruiting to our Texas team.

As we enter the last few months of 2023, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve my community through GlobalPro’s services. Texas is a state where clients get impacted by extreme weather all through the year: freezing Northers, hail storms, tornadoes, and flooding rains, we have seen them all. While insurance carriers focus on profitability, we focus on YOU our client. It has been a privilege to serve our clients thus far, and we look forward to a bright future for GlobalPro Texas.

With gratitude,

Rob Bowlby
