What Changed Since Monday’s Forecast?

South Florida Braces for Another Round of Storms and Flooding Risk
(As of March 16, Monday) After a wet and stormy weekend, South Florida is expected to see more showers and thunderstorms Monday, bringing the potential for heavy rainfall, localized flooding, and gusty winds as unsettled weather continues across the region.

Storm Status and Path

A new wave of scattered storms is expected to move into South Florida late Monday morning through the afternoon, with more widespread storms developing Monday night and overnight as a cold front pushes through the region.

Conditions for Intensification

The region remains under a Level 1 (Marginal) severe weather risk, with storms capable of producing:
• Damaging wind gusts
• Small hail
• Heavy downpours leading to localized flooding

Lingering moisture in the atmosphere may allow storms to persist into Tuesday, though with lower intensity and coverage.

What to Expect and How to Prepare

Residents should prepare for periods of heavy rain and possible flooding in low-lying areas on Monday.

Safety reminders:
• Monitor local weather alerts and advisories
• Avoid flooded roadways and low-lying areas
• Stay cautious near beaches due to dangerous rip currents
• Boaters should take note of the Small Craft Advisory in effect

Conditions are expected to gradually improve later in the week as cooler and drier weather moves in, with warmer and sunnier conditions returning by the weekend.

GlobalPro’s 3 D’s of Damage – Steps to Take After the Storm: After Hurricane Milton passes, it is crucial to take the right actions to protect your property and maximize your recovery from any damages sustained. At GlobalPro, we recommend following our “3 D’s of Damage” process to effectively manage risk and recovery:

  1. Document: Thoroughly document all damage by taking extensive photos and videos, both inside and outside your property. Capture every detail, no matter how minor, as this will be essential for your insurance claim. Maintain records of any temporary repairs made to prevent further damage.
  2. Describe: Create a comprehensive list of all damaged items, including a description and estimated value. This could encompass structural damage, broken windows, damaged furniture, and other affected property. The more detailed your documentation, the stronger your claim will be.
  3. Defend Your Claim – Call GlobalPro First: After a major storm like Hurricane Milton, having expert representation is essential. Before contacting your insurance company, call GlobalPro.
