Broward Educate to Elevate Brings Community Leaders Together to Prepare for What’s Next

On Thursday, July 9, 2026, community association professionals from across South Florida gathered for Broward: Educate to Elevate, an event designed to help community association managers (CAMs), board members, committee members, and community volunteers strengthen their knowledge, expand their professional networks, and connect with trusted industry partners.

Hosted by Castle Group, the event featured a dynamic expo showcasing industry-leading vendors and service providers while creating opportunities for meaningful conversations around the challenges and opportunities facing Florida’s community associations today.

Preparing Communities Before the Next Storm

With hurricane season underway, one of the day’s featured educational sessions focused on Hurricane Preparedness, providing attendees with practical strategies to help communities prepare before severe weather strikes.

The discussion explored the importance of proactive planning, communication, property readiness, and coordinated response efforts, reinforcing that preparation remains one of the most valuable investments a community can make before a disaster occurs.

The panel featured:

  • Nick Salerno, Vice President of Maintenance Operations, Juniper Landscaping
  • Marco Sousa, President, CL Wizard
  • Mauro Comuzzi, President, The Paving Lady
  • Scott Bloom, Operations Manager, Connection Elevator
  • Milagros Ponce DeLeon, Regional Director, Castle Group

The course also provided licensed Community Association Managers with one hour of OPP Continuing Education credit.

Funding Today’s Projects While Planning for Tomorrow

A second educational session addressed another pressing issue facing many Florida communities: Funding Construction Projects through Loans, Assessments, and Reserve Spending.

As associations continue navigating aging infrastructure, reserve requirements, and long-term capital improvements, the discussion provided valuable insight into avoiding common financial pitfalls while planning major projects responsibly.

Panelists included:

  • Emily Gannon, Attorney, Kaye Bender Rembaum
  • Jordan Knowles, Senior Vice President, Brown & Brown
  • Black Joyce, P.E., Project Manager, EPIC
  • Will Delgado, President, Castle Group

The session awarded attendees one hour of IFM (or ELE) Continuing Education credit, as well as continuing education credit for HOA Board Members.

Connecting Through Industry Collaboration

Beyond the educational sessions, the vendor expo allowed attendees to engage directly with local service providers offering specialized solutions for community associations. These conversations encouraged collaboration, introduced innovative resources, and reinforced the importance of building trusted professional relationships before challenges arise.

As Florida’s regulatory environment, insurance market, and construction industry continue to evolve, events like Broward Educate to Elevate create valuable opportunities for professionals to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships, and remain informed on the issues shaping their communities.
