From Investment to Risk: The Industry Insights Continue to Shape the Commercial Real Estate Conversation

The conversation around commercial real estate is constantly evolving. From where capital is coming from to how properties can be protected against emerging risks, today’s owners and investors are navigating a market that requires more than traditional approaches.

That is the idea behind the Industry Insights Series, presented by GlobalPro—a continuing platform designed to bring together investors, respected leaders, and industry experts for focused conversations about the issues shaping commercial real estate.

And this September, the conversation continued.

A Series Built Around Meaningful Conversations

The first two programs, Family Office Investors and Funding the Future, took place in June and established the foundation for the series by exploring different sides of the commercial real estate landscape. Together, they were designed to create conversations that continue beyond the room.

Recently, on September 16, 2026, the Industry Insights Series continued with Managing Risk in Commercial Real Estate Ownership. The program addressed one of the most pressing realities facing property owners today: managing risk in an environment where insurance markets, property exposures, and mitigation strategies continue to change.

For commercial real estate owners, risk management is no longer simply about having an insurance policy in place.

It involves understanding how insurance trends are affecting the market, identifying vulnerabilities before they become costly problems, and making informed decisions about how assets can be protected over the long term.

The discussion brought together Rob Bowlby, President of GlobalPro Texas & Georgia, and Pete Romano, Executive Vice President and North American Real Estate & Hospitality Leader at Aon, for a conversation centered on insurance trends, mitigation strategies, and practical approaches to property risk.

Our very own Rob brings a perspective shaped by years of working with property owners and navigating the intersection of insurance, risk, and recovery. His participation also reflects GlobalPro’s broader role in conversations that extend beyond the claim itself—toward helping property owners understand risk and prepare before a loss occurs.

Looking Beyond the Insurance Policy

One of the most important themes in today’s property market is the need to think about risk before it becomes a recovery issue.

Insurance remains an important part of protecting commercial assets, but effective risk management can extend much further.

Owners can benefit from understanding their current coverage, identifying potential gaps, evaluating mitigation opportunities, documenting their assets, and considering how a major loss could affect the operation and financial performance of a property.

These considerations become even more important as the insurance landscape continues to evolve. The goal is not simply to respond better after a loss. It is to make better decisions before one happens.

More Conversations. More Perspectives. More to Come.

With three programs now shaping the Industry Insights conversation, September has become another important chapter in the series.

But the month—and the series—isn’t finished.

September’s Managing Risk in Commercial Real Estate Ownership continued that mission by putting property risk, insurance, and mitigation at the center of the conversation—and by featuring GlobalPro’s own Rob Bowlby among the experts helping shape the discussion.

As we look ahead to next week’s program, the series continues to create opportunities for meaningful conversations, practical insights, and connections across the commercial real estate community.

One month. Multiple conversations. And more Industry Insights to come.
