(Burn Care is not recommended for 3rd degree burns. Such burns are considered severe and will need immediate medical attention.) How Does Burn Care Work? Burn Care is a sterile dressing saturated in an exclusive formulation of nontoxic, water based gel. The evaporation of the water at room temperature creates a time-released transference of cold to all areas of the injury for hours. How to Use Burn Care 1. Cut open bag and remove sterile Burn Care. To prevent contamination, handle as little as possible. 2. Unroll dressing and wrap burn Place about five inches of the wrap at an angle over the damaged area. Continuously wrap at an angle over the damaged area. Continuously wrap over the five inch base to create a snug compression. Kold Wrap will adhere to itself. Do not use an outer wrap, this will slow down the cooling action evaporation. 3. In the event of a chemical burn, flush area with water before applying Burn Care. If the burn is severe, see a physician immediately. (Burn Care has a shelf life of five years. Sterility is guaranteed as long as the package is not damaged or opened.)
